We were given the task of going off into Leeds city centre to find various items of food produce to draw. We weren’t allowed to take photographs to draw from, everything drawn must be from studying the item or from memory. I headed to Kirkgate Market and found a stall called Cafe Moor which sells North African and Middle Eastern food.
After looking at the selection of food on the front of the counter, including olives, salad, houmous, etc, I decided to draw the kebab on the gyro which is the rotating spit. I thought the texture and shape would be interesting to draw and represent. When we returned to college, we had to draw the object using different methods and also different mediums.
